| Service Academy Advisory Board Work Leads to Nomination of Future Leaders |

I am honored to announce that I will continue serving on the U.S. Service Academy Nominations Advisory Board for the Class of 2031, a position graciously extended by U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick. In this role, I have valued meeting the next generation of leaders for the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force and Merchant Marine academies. I am delighted to share that last year Sen. McCormick was able to submit 55 nominations for the next batch of military leaders to the four U.S. service academies.

If you love pickleball, this one is for you! The Upper St. Clair Bethel Park Rotary Club recently unveiled its new pickleball court pavilion in Millenium Park, 5900 Baptist Road, Bethel Park. Prior to a celebratory ribbon cutting, members of the club enjoyed friendly games of pickleball on the courts.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of Sept.11, 2001. I’m honored to invite you to join Sen. Devlin Robinson and me for our First Responder Appreciation Stair Climb and Recruitment Event at the Spencer Family YMCA, 305 Church Road, Bethel Park, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. During the stair climb, we are inviting residents to read the names of the first responders who lost their lives in the attacks. On this 25th anniversary, your presence would mean so much. Let’s honor the past, support those who serve today, and strengthen our community together.

I appreciate the many phone calls, office visits and neighborly conversations about proposals in Harrisburg because they help me echo your voice in the House chamber and advocate for the things you care about most. Below is a small glimpse of the topics I have taken on during this current legislative session. While the law-making process can be frustratingly slow, I remain committed to using active engagement and thoughtful resolution to address real concerns.
Health – Making allergy information more easily accessible, eliminating the use of dangerous chemicals from our food supply and urging federal regulators to declare a shortage of hormone replacement therapy medications to help women going through perimenopause.
Crime and Public Safety – Reducing re-entry into the corrections system by improving education opportunities, establishing a child advocacy office to be a voice for those too young to advocate for themselves, updating stalking and harassment laws to account for life in the digital age, ensuring our first responders have the best tools available, and requiring signage of all low-head dams, commonly called drowning machines, on our waterways.
Education – Supporting schools seeking to revise their daily start times, eliminating the practice of forcing children to use public transportation to get to school and allowing for a separate playoff structure for private schools that aren’t bound by geographical lines.

This Monday, Sept. 7, is Labor Day, a day set aside to recognize the achievements of American workers and the vital role they play in shaping the nation’s strength and prosperity. The holiday emerged in the late 19th century as states began adopting a day to honor workers; by 1894, Congress officially established Labor Day as a federal holiday.
Today, Labor Day serves as a moment to pause and appreciate the dedication, innovation and hard work that drive progress in every community. Whether marked with gatherings, parades or a well-earned day of rest, it’s a celebration of the people whose contributions continue to move our country forward.
All PennDOT driver license and photo centers, including the Riverfront Office Center in Harrisburg, will be closed Saturday, Sept. 5, through Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day
Customers may still obtain a variety of driver and vehicle products and services online through PennDOT's Driver and Vehicle Services website, www.dmv.pa.gov.
